Well, it's been a busy week.
Tuesday, I had lots of school work to do. I have been really dedicated to helping my students achieve their goals that they wrote on Monday. One girl's goal was to pass Algebra. So, she stayed after school and I helped her with her homework. Then she worked on her homework while I did my school work. She stayed till about 5:00 but she told me that she can't do homework at home because she has to take care of her younger siblings. Again, sometimes I just can't relate to these kids, but I care so much about them. I am sad that I won't teach until the end of the school year, I feel like I've really helped a few of them turn their grades around and want to see it through to the end of the semester.
Wednesday, it was a good school day. Nick and I joined two of our friends for dinner and then to a small concert. It was a blast. It had been a long time since I had done something fun with Nick and could totally relax. No worries or stresses about school!!
Thursday, ahhh the last day of school for almost ten days! The kids were quite excited. I bribed them to be good with donuts and cookies. Yes, I brided them and I am proud of it! It was pretty good but a lot of the kids were still pretty feisty. When we come back to school I plan to move them around a little and hopefully restore some order in the classroom.
I'm leaving for home early Saturday morning. Nick will spend Easter and the week here by himself. :( I will miss him.
Bad news about my dad, he hurt his knee pretty bad out in Colorado. He was on a skiing trip and took two bad spills. Hopefully it's not the ACL, but I wouldn't be surprised after all of the descriptions. Keep him in your thoughts!
Andy, Daniels good friend, is doing well from the surgery. It sounds like he's talking and looking good. I don't know anything about results, but just to know that he's cognitively okay makes me so happy!
Well, I can't wait to see my family and a few friends! I miss everyone!
