Tomorrow is the first day!

I am very excited for the first day, which is tomorrow! I've been so busy getting ready and finally have everything just right. We had teacher work days last Thursday and Friday and now we get the students! I must give a shout out to Ann Wick and the cart she gave me for graduation. I love that thing. Ann- I've used it almost everyday, especially when planning for one of my classes which has a text book and 6 supplementary materials/activities books.Here is that cart, although a bit blurry. I love it!! Thanks again Wick family!

Good news, I've gotten over my sickness, ahhh you really appreciate health just after being sick. I love being able to breath out of my nose! I found my mom's lost camera....I had it all along. opps. Well, the good news is her camera solves our camera slump problems. I am going to try to post as many pictures of my class as possible. The battery is almost dead so the pictures are a bit blurry.

Here is the back portion of my classroom. I've got 6 student computers for labs. You'll notice a tall speaker that looks light blue in the middle. I have one student who is very deaf and will have to wear a microphone while I teach for one of my classes.




Here is one of the pictures of our mascot,"The Scots" The plaid that he is wearing is our school color. Notice how I use this in my bulletin boards :)We have the Scottish flag flying in front of our school. This was the same flag that Daniel would carry around during Cross Country Meets....isn't that neat??

Here is the front of my room. I've got a desk area there, a TV, and lots of room. I've already written on the board for tomorrow. :)



Here is one of my bulletin boards that is titled "Highland Pride" and is filled with sports schedules, school rules, dress code info, and new paper articles.

This bulletin board isn't quite finished I have three more pictures to put on it tomorrow. But this is the About me bulletin board. I've got a picture of me with Nick at graduation, me with mom and dad at graduation, and a senior picture of Daniel. I'm thinking about putting a picture of King up there and saying he's my dog I have at school to scare off weirdos.

And these are some flowers that a friend's mom gave me to welcome me to school. She is the district psychologist and really nice. It was fun to get something special on the teacher work day and it dresses the room up a little. I went to school today and they still look great so I'll use them to welcome the kids tomorrow.

Well, all is well. I am excited and a bit nervous. Nick and I are going to take it easy today and try to relax b/c I know it will be hard to sleep. :) I'll have a first day of school picture for you later. :)
