20 days till Thanksgiving. I am having a stressful week! My Juniors and Seniors are working on research reports using PowerPoint, and it's been an up hill battle every step of the way. The way they complain, I sometimes wonder if I am the only teacher that makes the students work. It was a half day for the kids and in service for us teachers. I think they should just give us the entire day as a work day. I had a large number of absences, kids stating that they "don't work on half days," and other kids who were just hyper. Why not save my sanity and give the kids the day off?? I sure need one after that little half day episode! We had a really great speaker come in and talk to us during the in service.... Milton Creagh.
He was a great speaker that discussed how kids live in a life of entitlement these days and really don't know how to work or have a desire to work. It was scary it was so true! He also has a book out call- "Nobody wants your child." He was pretty funny, but inspiring. I am pretty much at my max for work but I think I will try to implement a few of his ideas in the next few weeks.
So, I am just super busy and there are no signs of anything slowing down. But hey! Thanksgiving is in 20 days and that means I'll be back in Wisconsin, relaxing with family!!
Love and miss you all!
